RENK-MAAG GmbH & Artec Machine Systems Begin Cooperative Territorial Agreement
Artec Machine Systems has entered into a cooperative agreement with RENK-MAAG for the sales & service of RENK-MAAG turbo gears for North America. This includes all existing installed MAAG gear units. Artec will provide services for repair, replacement, revamps and gear unit upgrades for field operational units. Artec’s service center in North Branford, CT can perform API mechanical run test on its test stand for most units. Applications for new installations are provided as well.
This agreement replaces Artec’s thirty five year long standing relationship originally started with MAAG Gear Wheel Co LTD.

The current company MAAG Gear AG, has retreated from the manufacture of turbo and marine gears concentrating on mill gears primarily for support of its parent company FL Schmidt with gear manufacturing at the FLS facility in Elblag Poland. RENK-MAAG will remain in Switzerland having taken over the operation facilities in Winterthur expanding its capacity with a new generation of grinding machines. Also included are the design and manufacture of high speed epicyclic gears for power generation. Renk MAAG and Artec will continue to provide the “Original MAAG Zurich” technology.
Renk MAAG will become a member company of AGMA in 2009.
