United States-based company has placed an order with Artec Machine Systems for the engineering of an integral compressor gearbox for a high-performance hydrogen compressor to be utilized for pipeline transmission. This new program seeks to promote hydrogen as a fuel source to provide the United States with diverse, secure, and emissions-free energy for the future.
The pinions of this prototype gearbox will run with a nominal speed of 60,055 rpm and transmit power of 1,000 kW each. Up to 6 pinions per machine can be utilized, allowing for a total power of 6,000 kW.
Artec Machine Systems was chosen to develop this advanced gear design because of its employee-based decades-long experience in engineering, design, analysis, and technology of custom gear drive systems for all industries.
Project management, purchasing, assembly, and testing of the gearbox will be completed at Artec's North Branford, CT facility.
